Primitive Antique Wooden Spool Candelabra Hand Turned Carved Peg Construction
Listing is for a primitive spool turned wooden candelabra. This really is a gorgeous made and hand crafted by a very talented wood worker. No nails used in construction; all candle holders are attached via pegs on a stacked spool rod. Each or the branches is adjustable so the branches can be parallel or you can create a tree effect by adjusting alternative branches.
There are 9 candle holders and the top detaches. In my opinion, the 6 inch honeycomb candle is the perfect fit. Also, any larger of a candlestick becomes a fire hazard in my opinion.No markings, but I presume it was made in the US in the late 19th century to early 20th century. It's solid and shows no previous repairs. There is the occasional scuff and blemish to the finish, but it has great old world charm and appeal.
Now the spool rests on a peg that slightly protrudes from the underside of the base, which makes it a bit wobbly. Some candle residue in the crevices of the holders, I find it helps candles to stay upright but I like the Biedermann Wax Candle Adapters to keep the candles in place.
