About Hita, JAPAN (Kyushu Island Area) and Hita Sugi. SUGI is Cedar Tree in Japanese. "Hita" area in Kyushu Island, Japan is known as famous cedar tree afforested place, and it is also well known as manufacturing center for premium cedar tree products. Its forestry has begun since 18 century (Edo-era) and explosive grow in production of wooden manufacturing after the WWII.
During mid-autumn to winter, dense fog covers Hita's mountains surface. Such climate helps grow Hita Sugi well throughout the year. Hita Sugi Geta has kind and softer texture than other competitors.
